Good bless Wetherspoons - simply a great chain of pubs. CAMRA endorsed with a great selection of good guest ales and affordable food to boot. Not the best place in the world certainly - but for the money you can't get any better!

I ****ing hate it in my local Spoons. Full of ******, the floor is sticky, San Miguel taste like urine. It is in an old opera house and the place COULD look amazing, but it looks like a 90 year olds front room.

My local spoons is great, awesome value and plenty of guest beers, most chain pubs could learn a lot from them.

its all about marketing, spoons realises that people will be watching the football in other pubs or at home, so are still trying to attract some trade.

You're attempting a "world record" which basically involves giving away free booze. Hence you want as few people to take part as possible, whilst still getting the record. Hence you choose the CL final night!

No, they want as many people doing it as possible, as the wine will be cheap crap, they will be banking on people staying for a few more drinks that will be paid for, meaning an overall profit for the company.
