HW91 can't remember where i read it as after a while all the sites just sort of melt into each other sure you know what i mean lol but SB is at least late Q1 or Q2 2011 according to what i read. Never know maybe intel and amd will surprise us all and give us the goodies early but not likely. Ozzy i know how you feel i got that upgrade itch myself right now but i need to make the best use of my money and i just cannot shake the feeling if i upgrade to whats out now i will regret it in a few months time.

So i am prepared to hold off and just buy things like case and fans and suchlike in prep for new build at least that way i am buying something but nothing critical just yet.

I read at quite a few places that sandy bridge had been moved up to Q4 so they could get an advantage over amd

also moore's law is still true for GPU's

The Sandybridges have intergrated 128mb graphics if im right, same Ghz clock most likely, cant remember but it loses 3 abilities 1366 socket type cpu's have, and only 4 Dimms.?

besides, then different versions, before dicontinuations of inferior cpu models.

new ones are socket 1155 - and 1155 are not for gamers. 2011 socket types not till Q3 of 2011 according to wiki.

id prefer to get a SOLID 1366 RIG and wait till we hit the 22NM and 16NM mark as it were.

You can only overclock 4ghz on 955 if you're lucky.

I would very much doubt u'd see any performance boost in gaming terms by upgrading ur CPU from a Q6600 @ 3.5GHz and 8GB of RAM (wish i'd bought a second 4GB set when i got my first for about £33 too!).

Your best bet to satisfy that itch is to buy a new graphics card and maybe upgrade ur monitor(s)/mouse/keyboard/headphones/speakers/case as you feel necessary.
