What 500GB IDE?

For those sorts of applications the speed of the drive isn't that important because the USB2 connection will be the limiting factor. The choice then really comes down to brand loyalty/personal experience and warranty. The Seagate's 5 year warranty would probably sway me in that direction.
 
Why is IDE more than SATA?

You can get two Seagate drives 320gb for 130 pounds?

haven't you got a sata connection on your motherboard or something?
