So... what would be your primary choice of the HD 7950 with boost for a watercooling setup (bear in mind that I have a Raystorm GPU block and dont want to get a dedicated 7950 block... yet ;) )?

I'm always looking for a good warranty with these so I am quite dissapointed that EVGA doesn't make these :/

Is it even worth getting the 'boost' version at the moment?

In terms of warranty, MSI or Gigabyte will be your best bets as it purported that they are nicer about removing the stock cooler. Officially, neither allow you to do it though

However, as long as you're careful and don't damage the graphics card in the process of fixing a water block to it, it should be fine. I believe manufacturers say this simply to cover themselves against PEBKAC damaged graphics cards.

True, however a few companies stick those silly stickers over their screws

I reckon I could remove one of them while keeping it in tact.

I've managed to remove those PS3 and PSP security stickers without getting the "VOID" pull away parts, and replaced them so they looked as good as new. :P

Well there isn't really an advantage as suck for people like yourself, as in enthusiasts. If you're looking to watercool your graphics card, an autoboost overclock isn't really for you.

It's for laypeople who don't understand overclocking, and to add as check box features really.

Haven't really looked into the boost cards yet but I thought they were simply different and had extra option for getting higher o/c.

Seems like it's not true then :)

If its the same as the 7970ghz cards the boost will be disabled as soon as you apply an over clock anyway. Not 100% sure on this so maybe somebody can confirm.

If you are water cooling anyway the only advantage you might get is you know you will be getting new silicon and possibly it may over clock better than older silicon (assuming the manufacturing process is improving)

as you are water cooling you will be assisting the voltage and clocks manually anyway.
