I had to park my Elise in another street last night, as I got back late and there was nowhere to park outside my house. I'd had the roof off, so as I put it back on, I took all my effects out of the passenger seat. I pocketed the head unit fascia and my phone, and left the tomtom ONE on the rear wing while I put the roof on, so it didn't get squashed.

I had to get up this morning to move my car back outside my house, before I got a parking ticket. What do I find when I get to the car? My tomtom sitting on the rear wing :eek:

I'm incredibly lucky it didn't get stolen and it didn't tip it down with rain overnight. I have no idea how or why I forgot to pick it up... I have a restored faith in humanity this morning.
 
I did that the other day - head unit still in my car, tomtom and screen in the glovebox and sunroof open.

Left it on my drive all night and came back in the morning to find everything still there.
 
Very, very lucky, but at least you made a genuine mistake. You were at least intending to take everything with you!

Glad you still have your tomtom though! :)
 
That's bloomin lucky dude. A while ago I left my wallet on the roof of my car (complete with £500 in £50 notes) in the middle of quite a rough area in Liverepool. An hour later someone came knocking on the door to pass me my wallet. Sometimes life is nice to you :).
 
I've left my phone on the roof of my car before :o Sometimes this things happen to test you or to help you to force you to play the lottery!

Whoa that's lucky. I left my bike keys on the bike seat once when I went into the bank. This was in bike theft central Sydenham so imagine my surprise when the bike and the keys were still there when I returned.
 
Man and i was worried when i left my wallet and phone in the car [locked] last night. I had visions of the only night my car gets stolen with everything in.
 
Me and the GF went shopping one saturday, I let her drive. Was hot so we had the windows open on the way. Parked in pay-and-display in town.

Few hrs later she is fishing in her handbag and looking a little upset - we where about to head back to the car and she couldn't find the keys - DOH! Get to the car...driver's side window fully down (and pavement-side), keys in the ignition.

i once left my Wallet , phone and PDA on the roof of my car just outside the company car park , i had call to say that someone had handed the lot in , not any cash missing :) gave the fellow a hundred quid for being honest, would have cost me 800 quid to replace otherwise!

Best thing I have ever done is put my wallet on the top of my car, tied my shoes. Then driven back home. Wallet was still on the roof. :D
 
I once left a customers PC base-unit next to my car on the drive overnight.
Completely forgot about it, was quite a suprise when I opened the door in the morning to see it sitting there.
 
ive left my wallet and pda on the passenger seat over night once!

luckily its a student road, so the only people wandering down it at night are drunk students who probably cant even focus, let alone spot my stuff :D
 
Did you see on the news the other day the article about the firearms officer who left his taser on the car roof, then forgot about it and drove off ? I don't know if it's been recovered yet, but I doubt it....
