I have a MX-518 mouse from may 2010, bought from a well known high street PC shop. It is the best mouse I have ever used! But recently I have been noticing this problem with the sensitivity decrease button, it would not decrease the mouse sensitivity when I press "normally". I have to press it with a bit of an effort.
So I tried calling the shop I bought it from, having to stay on hold for about 10 minutes on a 0844 number they transfered me to the branch I got it from, but the customer service assistant on the other side was as useful as a door stopper! She would not understand what I was saying about the mouse and was going on about my mouse being over 28 days and not with in the money back guaranty period.
After a heated discussion and wasting my money on a 0844 number, I decided to call Logitech.

To cut the long story short, I am getting a new MX-518 from Logitech in 3-5 days!:)

To be fair, dont they usually have a years guarantee (at least) on these kind of peripherals? But that is still good news :) I think with msot companies, if you dont go in all guns blazing you can often get a positive result.

Just simply talking to them about the issue can resolve it :) Good news for you though! :D

Logitech have always been the best in the business with regards to peripherals. Those PC stores really do employ idiots who know nothing about nothing.

Glad you got it sorted. I wouldn't use anything other than logitech. Saying that i'm using a Saitek keyboard at the moment but I had all sorts of issues with it at the start and even now. Never again will I venture into other brands territory.

I just wish they still had the raising legs fro my g15 rv 2 as one just broke and they dont stoke them anymore. And its like, 3 months out of warranty so I cant get anything :(

They are indeed fantastic if they can help you out though.

was yours in warranty? I only asked for the legs as I assumed they wouldnt since it was out of warranty. Do they even still make the g15 rev2?

Had some small speakersfrom logitech for the laptop which a known fault with them was to sometimes recieve radio signals, apparently this was dependant on a number of things but I wont list them.

I got the speakers from an online store tested them on my PC worked fine but on the laptop they recieved radio signal contacted logitech and because the speakers I got were no longer in production they sent me a brand new set for the same value at no extra cost not even postage.

I think logitech pretty much do this with all their products as I know of a lot of friends who have had a simular result from phoning them.

even if it was out of warranty i'm surprised they didnt at the very least offer you money off a new product. heard so many stories about logitech offering 50% off on their website to customers with fautly items that are out of warranty.

There is a permanent 20% off items when you trade in your old logitech items lol.

But, damn their keybaords are expensive now. I paid £50 for my g15, its now £72 on OCUK and the G510 which id like is £80 something.

At least the phone cable I have plugged into it has a plastic bit on it, which is EXACTLY the same height as the raiser leg lol.

I hate any high street PC store they have no idea, I had an issue with my Mx-518 and called them they replaced it no questions asked so impressed, I always look to buy there things theese days because of it that's what good customer service does.

The amount of "Great service from Logitech" posts i've seen on multiples of sites over the past few weeks is starting to make me suspicious of some kind of advertising campaign going on.

I know logitech are good but there's just been this sudden outburst of almost identical posts over about 10 different sites.

They are well known for their customer service, thy do things right (as in what is best for their customers) which not many people do.

Well I can assure you I do not work for Logitech!
I Have seen some other posts in here about the customer support of logitech, but I never expected my mouse to develop a fault - no matter how small it is.
The guy i spoke to at logitech said he is satisfied that I am telling the truth and under normal circumstances they would ask me to deal with the pc shop I got it from, but in this case they would simply send me the new one.
I dont have to send my original purchase receipt or the old mx 518! This is after me ranting about how difficult it is to switch between sensitivities in BFBC2 with my mouse :D

Buy a Logitech product; if it breaks, you will see why we are saying this. :)
