Precisely, and there is no "problem" with that, as that is exactly what I am saying. ALL religious are guilty. Jihad, Holy Crusade... Everyone thinks they're correct and others are wrong - that in itself isn't strictly bad. That's where the difference between a religion and faith becomes apparent. A religion is just one of several set rule books on faith. The fact that they can't just agree to stick to their own and let others be is where it starts to be a problem.
I hope that makes more sense and you can see what I'm trying to say.
It's not just them. Whilst the yanks aren't going all ape **** with shoe bombers etc, they're still very much set in their ways. All religion are prejudiced. Only some discriminate.

I think with americans though it's less about evolution and their religion and more about lack of education, their schools are so big and have so many students per class that they don't get the help and 1 to 1 tuition that many kids failing over here can receive. They learn to become a bit gung ho about everything. (I probably haven't put that very well but hopefully my point is somewhat there)

This is one example. Not only is it completely off the point but the content is mostly incorrect. Jewish people are forbidden to eat the meat of many types of animals the same as Muslims, e.g. pork. Moslims aren't forcing that on you are they? The same as here, this is a more of a case where they have found something insulting, the same way Sikhs were outraged a few years ago when one of their Temple or something along those lines was featured in a game scene. Exactly the same way loads of other people are outraged and insulted by x,y,z in a game, be it a game being too "violent", glorifying x,y,z etc.

Not really, Buddhists have been behind plenty of violence. No set of people can ever claim to be peaceful, perfect, non violent etc. It's human nature to have all these traits. What's disgusting is irrational generalisation of people, especially those based on ignorance and false info.

The problem is our cultures are different. Some cultures/religions will be offended at different things, and the extent to which which they are offended will also differ. We should be working to understand these differences, not belittle them. This is the only way we will achieve a peaceful society.
Now, I'm not a Muslim, and most people on this forum won't be, so most of us have no idea how offensive that writing in the bathroom example might be. It might seem trivial to us, but for all I know it might be THE most offensive thing to Islam (I doubt it is though). Therefore it would be prudent to acknowledge the issue, and not make a mockery of it.
Another example: would you go to Turkey and disrespect Atatürk? I doubt the "chill out man... just be offended... it's no big deal" argument would hold up too well. Ignorant football fans have lost their lives over such things.
Specifically to the bathroom painting though, I would've guessed most Muslims would've thought the whole complaint a bit pedantic, but like I said, I don't actually know how offensive that situation is.

First of all, care to add a name to the third quote? It reads as if i've said that and that wasn't me.
Secondly, the buddist thing was tongue in cheek and thought it came across as such, I don't claim to be informed of what they're like world wide.
Thirdly, it's a debate according to majnu, of course there's a point, what's the point in commenting at all if you're not going to give a view, giving a comment in the fashion you did just comes off as a know it all ****.
Lastly, you haven't exactly got my point, while relatively poor examples they were examples that all faiths have these weird beliefs and "boundary's" within their faiths, my point was that Muslims appear to be the only ones that get all up in arms about the most ludicrous things.
Within reason i could understand, but this is about a picture...in a bathroom, i mean come on!? I'd understand if there was a level that went inside a Muslim temple shooting people or something, as that's far more obvious and a little over the line.... not that we have a problem with people shooting inside churches mind you. Wasn't that sikh one where someone had stuck the wrong symbol on the top of a sikh temple or vice versa?
