What a load of Bosch!

It's not just me is it? The quality of Bosch parts has seriously fallen over the last 5 years or so.

I considered Bosch parts to be generally good years back. I mean I have bought drills, sanders and well, lots of equipment over the years. It's all been generally good and not really let me down unless it's fair wear and tear.

Then you look at how many parts fitted to cars are Bosch and how often they fail.

Waterpumps with plastic impellors - yeah well done Bosch, that's bound to last!

Plastic/rubber constructed dump valves - Oops, my Turbo just blew a hole in my diaphram!

HT Leads - Burned two in a year. (old car, were damn expensive for the Mazda too)

Spark Plugs - First set just didn't last. On second set the tip was destroyed on one, probably dumped a load of broken bits in my engine (luckily on old car, replaced with NGK's, was perfect after for years).

Wiper Blades - Tried numerous blades on various cars. All seemed to perform poorly. Even the Halfords ones were better, which atually makes me sad. Fitted VAG recommended blades on the Cupra and they are perfect!

Bah....the coil packs are probably made by them as well, looking at the failure rate they must be! :D

Rant over!

Don't know about the rest, but I've jsut fitted Bosch wipers and found them to be excellent.

I had Bosch Super4's in the 214 when I bought it. No wonder it was misfiring like a bitch.

Swapped them out for some NGK's and all was good.

The 220 has just started misfiring when cold... good job I've already got some Denso's and Magnecor leads on order

Although, I do like Bosch wiper blades. Going to get myself some of those soon. The rubber on my rear wiper decided to part company a couple of weeks ago :D

My 2 month old Bosch wipers have developed a nice patch on my drivers side where the wiper misses the water completely!

Not impressed for a £28 pair of wipers!

I guess they're producing more parts than they used to and so are making things cheaper whilst earning a sizeable profit?

I bought Bosch wipers.

Awesome, really good.

1 week later, rubbish. Now they are totally and utterly useless. I'd be better getting out every 300 metres and wiping the water off with a sponge.

I recommend half a potato, Fox, unlike a sponge it leaves the windscreen with slight water repelling properties (but you still have to do it quite often) :p

My wipers need changing but they're not too bad, no idea what they are though.

Everytime I wash my car I used AutoGlym Glass Polish which makes the blades run across the window much smoother. It's pretty good stuff, much much better than the glass cleaner they produce that comes in that spray bottle thing.

Bosch wipers are crap, really good for a week or two, then they just smear, or worse, miss bits.

I like the Meg's stuff. Also smells lovely!

EDIT: In fact, ALL Meg's stuff smells lovely!

All of you with bad wipers from Bosch, have you taken the time to return the wipers to them with a copy of the receipt?

Things will never improve if people arent complaining about them.

I always thought it was me and my imagination that Bosche wiper blades are utter carp. Reviews said they were the mutts nuts and they were cheap.
After a couple of months they began to miss parts of the screen and leave patches and they smeared like crazy sometimes. Have gone back to Ford blades for my focus now. No probs now.

IIRC Ford use Valeo blades as there OEM ones which are very good imo.

I've used bosch wipers on the zafira and also on my dads nissan vanette. Utter garbage. Squeaky and smearing in under a month.
