What a load of ****

But it has brought the sport into disrepute, which is a perfectly legitimate reason for suspension or sacking.

How so? Consensual sex in a free society is between those involved. I kind of expect that players from the teams I support will engage in sex to be honest. Their preferences and how they choose to do so in a legal manner I prefer to leave to them.

another example of why there should be anonymity for both accusers and the accused where claims of sexual assault are involved, especially when the media, rather than the courts, are used for the trial.

I agree with this. But we'll never have it while it's too politically sensitive to rebutt something asked for by women's rights groups. The police didn't like it when we did trial it anyway, they said it made it too hard to track witnesses.

Because he cheated on his wife in a group sex session with a woman who now claims that the sex was not consensual.

If that's not disreputable, I don't know what is. Even if the sex was consensual, cheating on your wife with a bunch of teammates is despicable. Johns is a meathead who couldn't keep his **** in his pants but thought he could get away with it. Now he's being pilloried by the media. Well hey, what did he expect?

Well yes, if it is proven as a crime or even on the balance of probability likely it wasn't consensual.

I agree its wrong to cheat, but I just dont see how with what is proven so far that it brings the team in to disrepute. If every sports star who engaged in adultery lost their job we wouldn't have sport worth watching.
