so that would also cover turning your lights on or hitting the demister\heater as the windows are misting up as they take your eyes of the road and they would think you were tuning the radio, how would you prove that it was the demister you were turning on

A good few of my mates are coppers, and they despise this **** as much as me ( and that over Met and two counties)
I'm afraid it all seems to be about saving the odd quid here and there and meeting targets.
Career politicians and beaurocrats are the sea weasels that come up with this carp.
Put 'em all up against a wall, and journalists too while i'm having a rant :p
 
In the borough I live in, we used to have smart cars fitted with these cameras for a while. They were used to catch people illegally parked as they drove by and to also catch people on hatched markings at junctions.

The camera was so effective that the council deemed it too effective as it was catching so many people so it was taken off the road.
