What addon/UI do I get for WoW

Argg there's way too much info in that UI! My head would explode trying to keep up with all the updates!
Sadly, that is the life of a healer in WoW.

I remember when I used to play a paladin. This was before any buffing mods, and before 15 minute buffs, and before 25 man raids, before Xperl/Namibia or any "clean/nice" raid bars, CTMod was the norm but it was a mess. Buffing 40 people...healing 40 people..

Hehe. You actually let a loladin raid?!
Paladins have always been an amazing raid class.

Majority of those all look awful, far too much clashing colours and too big. Prefer the minimal approach. I'll have to check my mods later.

clashing of colors?? lol is this a fashion parade?

I kinda get where your going though, i try to keep what area's i can control to match with the class of the player, such as the purple for my lock as above.

I used to have quite a few on - but now I only really use Tomtom and the quest expander - I did used to use the Titan Bar a lot but haven't been recently...

Atlas
Bag_Status_Meters
BankItems
CritLine
EquipCompare
MonkeyClock
QuestLevel
RangeRecolor
sct
WOWEcon_PriceMod
ZavarChatScroll

Have some class specific but those are the ones i have with all.

this is what i use as a 70 mage

atlas
atlas enhanced
ctmod
auctioneer mod
titanpanel
deadly boss mod
klh threat meter
scrolling combat text (sct)
cartographer
decursive
recount damage meter

used to use photekUI when out and about grinding/levelling but used to disable it for raiding. Only real mods I had enabled then was CTraid mod and that was only because our guild made it compulsory. As a tank never really needed to care about how much health anyone else had left.

Always knew when the priests were low on health, it was signalled by my char falling over and combat log saying "you have died"

Here's the UI (Quartz) I was talking about earlier; I used my low level character for easier understanding.

You can see to the immediate right of the target mob there are some debuff bars that show what they are, as well as the time left. The top of the list has the least time remaining, with the bottom of the list taking the longest to run out. The cast bar has been changed to a fuller bar, with a 'redzone' included. This is the latency compensation zone, where the mod takes into account your latency and shows when you can do your next action without a delay (you do that action as soon as it hits that redzone). Underneath that bar you will notice a white dot (under 'b' of frostbolt in the screenshot here), this is the global cooldown pulse ticker. Global cooldown in WoW is 1.5 seconds for every ability cast, which this pulse ticker easily displays for you - it allows you to start your next spell easily as soon as you can, and also takes into account your latency. It's a stupidly powerful mod, and using it for the first time is akin to getting a very powerful item upgrade; it's that effective!

My frames and party frames are Xperl, I don't use it for any particular utility, only that it is far easier to read and look at.

Thanks KNiVES, that's more what I'm after.

Currently using:
  • BanziaAltert Useful for knowing when about to get killed by a hunter.
  • Bartender3 Beats spread out default hotkey placement
  • Quartz Good explaination, but I've not used it to full potential while in battleground.

Just ned a good frames plugin now. One that lists class so instantly know what to expect, instead of using tooltip, when at a distance

Bane if it's Arena you want the Frames addon then I would recommend Proximo. It creates a small window of your opponents names, classes and Health. Really nice mod.

If it's for the actual unit frames then Pitbull is very customisable so I would recommend that for you.

Yesterday, I fired up WoW for the first time in 2, maybe three years.

The UI has improved a lot. Currently I have the "Cartography" add-on loaded so I can add notes to my maps. It seems to work OK. It does other stuff too if required. Use the last but one release about a month old. People are reporting issues with the absolutely latest.

Mine so far, just started playing again :)

Pearl frames , bongobars, chat mod and a few others like decursive & auctioneer.
