What AMD cpu for a budget gaming build?

Yes I have I sold it on here about 6 months ago.i had the ASU’s tuf model

Right now I also have a 4070s and a 4080
Yeah six months ago which isn't the latest patched version I've played, nor do you own my card now. So you haven't played it on the latest patch like I have and am currently replaying, as you sold the card!
So you cant say anything. And you've just jumped on the anti dlss bandwagon, how original

You had one and yet you couldn't achieve the FPS/settings I did? Riiight, sounds like you really tested it loads. More likely you just bought it to sell and didn't test it.
At this point you're just coming across as a 4080 fanboy/troll, it's blatantly obvious.

I could screenshot the settings/FPS and prove you wrong, but you're clearly bored and fancy a wind up.

4070S isn't a 4070, so means nothing in this conversation they're 2 different cards.

If you bother to look you can see in 5 month old AW2 videos with high 4K DLSS/FG/Reflex that the 4070 was doing 53-60fps with RT/PT off on a first gen non patched release... So it really isn't hard to believe it now achieves 60 is it...

So stop spreading misinformation. I'm bored of this pointless conversation. I have no reason to lie, at worst I'd just play any game at 1440P if needed, of which my tv and 165hz 1440P both do...

I can currently max out any game with RT/PT off at 1440p or 4K DLSS at 60fps - which is all I want for SP via a tv and a controller, or at worst run a high setting when the time comes over ultra, big deal...

The 4070 cost £520 and your 4080 costs over a £1000 and isn't double the performance...

Now stop derailing this thread with trolling and leave it.

no dlss is good, i love it. RT is ***** i hate it. but DLSS is good to a point
you say the 4070 can do 4k no it cant. do you know what DLSS dose... it adjusts the setting and resolution.
you may very well be set at 4k but what the GPU is putting out is not 4k its an heavy adjust image and at best your getting 1440p

turn off DLSS and let the game run at 4k then send me a screen shot

4k DLSS is about 1440.. yes the GPU is good for 1440 thats what i used the one i had for

The 4070 cost £520 and your 4080 costs over a £1000 and isn't double the performance...
the 4070super costs the same as a none super so. what your point there

So why are you moaning then?

I said from the start it can do 4K DLSS/FG/Reflex, which it can. It also can easily do 4K native High in TLOU at 58-64FPS, which it can.
My ASUS Dual 4070 can play anything you throw at it at 4K DLSS3.5/FG/Reflex at 60+ fps, even AW2 at max settings with RT/PT off.

At native 4K it can use high settings in TLOU with the latest patch and achieve 58-64fps depending on the level... So no.
It also will happily do max settings in Rachet & Clank at 56-58fps native 4k...
Try reading next time ;)

I have never once claimed it could do AW2 at native 4K, ever.

Yes I'm well aware 4K DLSS is 1440p, it literally says it when you chose it in the options, well done.

A 4070 Super starts at £550, so not £520, so no, not the same price as a 4070. And I've never claimed to own a Super so that is irrelevant, my 4070 costs half the price of your 4080 - which isn't twice the performance for twice the money.

My 4070 does exactly what I said it does, 4K DLSS3.5/FG/Reflex in any current game I want at max settings with RT/PT off, or the obvious native 1440p as it's the same rendered resolution, which suits my 4K60 TV SP with a controller experience fine.

So my point was, you were lying claiming that it couldn't do 4K DLSS3.5/FG/Reflex at high/ultra in any game I've played, which it can, and is proven, you also made a bold claim you knew this for fact despite not having had a normal 4070 for 6 months, so in no way can you have tested one in the present time on the latest patch, yet you still want to start a fight

I also stated that a 4070 can do native 4K in TLOU at high settings at 58-64fps depending on the level with the most up to date patch, along with and Rachet & Clank with RT turned off at 56-58fps, which yes isn't 60 solid but can be easily slightly tweaked to do so, or just use DLSS3.5/FG/Reflex and have way above that and not care, as it is very hard to tell DLSS3.5 from native, especially not from a sofa. I couldn't care less.

You've now agreed with me stating it can do 1440p along with mentioning that 1440p is the 4K DLSS rendered resolution, so you've completely contradicted your original argument that I was wrong, along with saying it can't do 4K at all, which as I already said it can in games like TLOU at high settings reaching 60 and slightly above depending on the level, along with many older games.

I have tried to be polite about this, but you continue, and contradict yourself.

We get it, you have a thing against the 4070 and 5700X, move on, no one is interested, least of all me that actually has one currently and knows you're talking rubbish.

I am ignoring this thread now as you're obviously very bored and trolling.

So for the second time now, leave it and stop derailing the thread and calling people liars. It is you in this case that is sharing misinformation.

THE END.

so its not @ 4k is it....
The End :D

this is what @fleapea should buy, but please find an extra £25 and get a 5600 not the 5500.
5600 has double the l3 cache and supports pcie gen 4 which the 5500 does not, and its only £25 more
Something like this is about as good as I could do while all being in stock.

I put 1TB in because 512GB isn't much cheaper and games are getting huge these days.... pick a different case if preferred but this one looked ok for airflow (install PSU with fan facing down for extra exhaust!)

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £557.29 (includes delivery: £7.99)
I'm sure someone else will be along shortly with some better ideas (cough @Tetras @mickyflinn cough)
Edit: If you want a better cooler, pick up a Thermalrite Assassin King for around £16 elsewhere - It's just about keeping my 5950x in line at the moment!

Yeah I agree the 5600 would be a much better buy, although it's £35 more at OCUK prices.... I was aiming for the middle of the stated budget and without mentioning competitors (well, except for the cooler). As I said above I'd definitely also want to upgrade to a full ATX board and case if it was my system.

And yes, 4k DLSS quality is 1440p, I think DLSS performance is 1080p if I remembered correctly.....

4k:

Quality: 2560x1440p

Balance: 2227x1253p

Performance: 1920x1080p

Ultra Perf: 1280x720p

Since I still had the rest in my basket.... 5600, 32GB, ATX board (pre-order!) and nicer case (but then we're well in to budget stretching territory!):

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £668.33 (includes delivery: £11.98)
Edit: I'm also not sure if the 5600 comes with a stock cooler, as it's not listed but for the 5500 it was.... but just get the assassin king anyway :D
