What antivirus do you use on your network

Sounds like it.
How new is Forefront, and why had I not heard of it until a couple of weeks ago.

Hate the volume licencing gubbins, i can't work out how much it would cost us, as I only have a number, not all the info.

It was new to me too a couple of weeks ago. When you have a look at the client it looks like its essentially Microsoft security essentials. Can't help you on non-enterprise costs I'm afraid, were entitled to it as part of our core cal
 
What good AV runs on server 2008 without having to get the usual 3-5 license copies for the client machines that comes with it?

Just setup a server for home use/learning but it appears you can't just stick any old AV onto it.
 
Using Symantec Endpoint Protection 11 on our company network.

It's a resource hog on client machines and as some have said it fails to find infections and i have to use other tools to remove them.

Looking for a better solution at present.
 
I support so many different customer networks that I use a whole range of AV

Endpoint
Sophos
Trend

are the main ones though, out of the three I prefer Sophos for its everyday use and protection.
 
Trend OfficeScan ... needless to say, we wont be renewing when the contract it is up. Just hogs way more CPU of each client machine than promised.

Another one for Trend, but use the Worry Free version for SMBs. I tend to switch to conventional scan for this reason. I do agree it's becoming overcomplicated bloatware though.
