What are the must-have PS3 games?

Motorstorm and Virtua Fighter 5.

I love these two games, VF5 is incredibly deep although it is a very niche title. If you love fighters then VF5 is easily one of the best.

I played the Resistance demo and found it really boring. There is absolutely nothing new that I played in it that I have not played in the last 5 years. It's a Half Life / Call of Duty clone and I think both games were far better experiences. Of course I am basing this off a demo and I imagine there are parts which are much better but I still think console shooters are much more suited to PC and it frustates me when playing them, they are not responsive enough.

I think the 360 controller is designed to suit Halo and other shooters as that genre is the main seller for the system and it is more reponsive and better suited to it overall, but the PS3 controller isn't.

Resistance is very average in single player, multiplayer is pretty decent though, the matchmaking is a bit retarded sometimes but that's the only real downside.

The 360 controller is suited for all games better than the PS3 pad, except maybe 2d fighters. That's what a lot of people feel.

Yup, plus the PS3 not having proper triggers just annoys the hell out of me, my finger always slips off them during Motorstorm. ;\

How can you say maybe? The Dpad is terrible, it's practically not even usable and most of XLBA games use it. When you use the dpad on the 360 you have to position your hands closer together and it is awkward.

The reason the PS3 has kept the dpad on the same posiiton is so that you can still use it efficiently. The two analogues are still in a comfortable place because of the way the controller is shaped when using it for most games.

Learn to read. The 2d fighters comment is because of the d-pad. Otherwise, the triggers, analogue sticks and ergonomics of the PS3's controller are inferior compared to the 360's controller.

O_o

I understood what he meant straight away

I do like how the D Pad on the PS3 is slightly analogue also though.

Er, I did mean it. Jesus.

Let's make this nice and easy shall we.

360 pad is not suited for 2d fighting games and such because of its dpad. This is the -only- advantage the PS3 controller has.

You know, I think the four main buttons have a better feel on the sixaxis too. They just feel more precise than the slighty chunky and hard 360 ones.
Better for football games too. :)

I personally don't rate Motorstorm at all. I just got bored of it too quick.

Resistance is the best game on it, but thats if you like first person shooters.

:p Im the opposite got bored of RFOM in double quick time, just didn't offer anything that other FPS dont already

I think it's actually down to personal choice rather than being an outright fact that one controller is better than the other. I have warmed a lot to the 360 controller but I still prefer the PS controller tbh.

What? They feel no different to any other controller buttons.

I prefer the 360 controller because it doesn't feel cheap and the positioning is far better with the analogue sticks, FPS games are 100000x better.

Just because they feel no different doesn't mean they are not analogue.
Since the DS2 every button (except start and select) is analogue.
Just play MGS2/3 or GTA and you will see this. The buttons being analogue is actually a fundamental part of some of the MGS gameplay. It allows you to 'hold up' people.

Also driving games the harder you press the buttons the harder you brake accelerate etc. GT3 was the first game i found this useful and it seemed to improve with GT4.

Oh, so that's what it is.

Triggers > All though.

PS3 must have titles?

Pirates of the carribian 1&2 special edition (blu ray)
Casino Royale (Blu Ray)

No others come to mind.
