Only problem with these kind of mats is that they tend to curl up at the edges after a while. Had 2 Razer mats do it and 2 eyepads .

With regards to curling, just make sure something heavy is on the ends for a while and it will go flat, mine is flat as a pancake.

I don't have a problem with mine curling at the edges.

I have a big mouse mat as well so the boogie bug is under my keyboard and mouse mat, means I get a lot of cushioning on the edge of my desk.

There are desk/writting pads that does the same thing. I've seen one that allows the user to side photos, pictures and notes into in and it had USB ports on the side.
