The rubber seals either side of the electric windows in your car? The seals that sandwich the glass between them. I need to replace these on my E39 as tree sap has caused them to crack, however a google search brings nothing up and I don't know what they're called.

Help? :D

Are you sure they are cracked? They often look cracked but it's actually a layer of hardened dirt which you can scrape off revealing the original seal underneath.

Assuming you are talking about the bit at the base of the window rather than the top.

Yeah the base - I'm going to try and see if I can clean them up, as the car was sat for a while unused under a tree and there is a ridiculous amount of tree sap covering them - they look green!

Not sure what to try to get it off.. I have tried scraping it with a small screwdriver, but a lot of it won't budge. There is a small amount of cracking where it has been left.

I imagine replacing the weatherstrip for every window would be an absolute ballache :(
