Agreed. I know I like a spirited drive, but by no means do I drive like the guy I saw yesterday. He hammered it passed me at about 100mph in his company BMW 118D, then approached some lights and was in the slow lane. When we got to dual carriageway again he pulled in the fast lane behind me, I was stuck behind a driver in the fast lane so he undertook us all then sat on a transit vans bumper swerving left and right till he moved out the way.
He probably got home about 5 mins quicker by doing this, but it was dangerous and he was an idiot.
What's a fast lane?
What's a fast lane?
When you drive fast (faster than other cars), which lane do you tend to be in? Typically when you need to overtake or progress on the roads, the only legal way of doing so is to be in the faster (outside) lane, which I and many others call the fast lane.
Hence "Fast lane". Why are we bickering over a simple term/phrase, are you going to shoot me for calling Ketchup "red sauce"?![]()
People who sit in the outside lane or the middle lane for no valid reason should be shot. Repeatedly. Along with those who overtake then slow down. Can we take out the idiots who perform overtakes on blind bends or with oncoming traffic visible and misjudge it while we're at it ? Oh and the 35mph in a NSL brigade, we've got to get them!
I honestly think we should have some form of mandatory refresher course for everyone say every five years. Or at least a voluntary system that results in an insurance discount. Far too many people seem to forget how to drive once they pass the test.
MOST ANNOYING! - Lorry driver, taking over a lorry driver, taking over a lorry driver. Dont know if they were playing some fun game to **** off the other drivers but got i was fuming.
They shouldn't be allowed in lane 2 either. I remember a while back there was a road trialing the idea of making it illegal for HGVs to drive in lane 2 - can't remember the specifics though.
nah, they need to be able to overtake, else they would all end up clumped together. maybe on certain sections of road, but not everywhere
