Away from the world of plastic Manc's and Liverpool 'fans' from Ireland, until this season Newport didn't have a decent derby match for years. There were some decent affairs with Merthyr a while ago, but then we've had games against Bath with their minibus of fans.
This season that changed. Hereford were relegated from League 2 and only a couple of weeks in we welcomed them to our new ground. It was a Tuesday evening kick-off, and I was buzzing all day, completely unable to concentrate on work.
The games itself was fantastic, 4000+ turned out (our average the season before was ~1300), and we won 2-0. There first goal was one of the best I've seen.
Cannot wait for the return at Christmas.
