What are your 'must have' options / functionality?

As each marque/model will have different base spec, it's a tricky one... but...

- AirCon
- iOS connectivity
- Bluetooth handsfree
- Xenons/Laser headlights
- Upgraded sound system
- front/rear sensors
- Cruise Control
- Full electric windows
- Folding Door Mirrors (wish I spec'd this on my 330D)

All else is superfluous to my interests, but would consider if not too pricey (heated seats, electric seats, sports-auto, auto-wipers, auto-headlights, DAB radio, internet, sat-nav etc).

Automatic, cruise and climate is all I need for a daily. Bluetooth integration is nice but not essential. Heated seats only needed if they are leather!

My Leon doesn't need parking sensors, but I'd be buggered parking Andys Mondeo if it didn't have them. Judging the distance to the back of the car in the current generation on Mondeo is pretty difficult.

Air con and driving position, decent weight to steering and a decent sized steering wheel IE not too big and brakes not too over assisted, I really want bluetooth and music streaming in my next car

I wouldn't call it a necessity but if you do a lot, and I mean a LOT, of motorway miles, then having this would be definitely a plus. Beats resting your foot on the pedal for hours and hours.

Yup, I do a lot of miles all over the country and I'm pretty good at being able to drive long distances without needing a loo stop every 5 minutes. Driving from Newcastle down to Portsmouth late at night was pleasant because of the light traffic but cruise control would make it much more comfortable.

If you don't do many motorway miles or always drive at rush hour then there's little benefit but my current car doesn't have it while my previous did and I really miss it.

My last car was from the 90s so was lucky to have electric windows!

With the Astra I've gained auto lights, wipers and auto dimming rear view mirror.

The only thing I really want is cruise which costs about £65 to retrofit. Purely as I drive 100 miles quite regularly and been up and down the motorway for 3 hour drives my foot gets sore. I don't have a foot rest either!

My next car I'd like xenons and climate control but they aren't a major factor.

A/C, Lumbar, power steering and good brakes - oh and an engine that works!
(A/C is for the dogs, everything else is for me)

After owning my Mondeo, I thought all cars I wanted should have:

Sat-Nav (Mostly because they make most cars look nicer inside)
Adaptive cruise control
Automatic wipers
USB/Aux In
Parking sensors
Automated headlights
Bi-Xenon headlights
Climate control
Tyre pressure sensor
Electric seats
Heated/cooled seats

And then I ended up getting an MX-5...

For a daily driver then leccy windows, xenons, cruise control & aircon.

As a 2nd car all I require are rear-wheel drive and a 6+ Cylinder engine.

Most things are 'nice to have' rather than 'must have' for me. Power steering, Air-conditioning and electric windows are probably the only things I'd want although I can get on fine without any of those as well :p

I'm genuinely amazed by how useful heads up display is, would definitely pay for this if buying new.

Otherwise:

Decent engine
Climate
Cruise
Xenons
Decent stereo
Bum warmers

I've never tried adaptive cruise but could imagine that being pretty epic.

The only thing I would add to my current car if I could would be a better sound system.

Xenon headlamps
Heated front screen

USB capability for music
Reversing camera (very useful for cars spec'd with privacy glass and auto dimming rear view mirror )
