What benchmark software to use?

For gpu's, theres a host of benchmark threads we use on here. Most common ones being the futuremark 3d ones, and unigine heaven/valley. Leaderboards for all which can give you something to compare to.

For seeing how good your upgrade is I feel the best thing is to just run games man.. Bench games and compare. End of the day this is why you bought a GPU. :D

Surely the reason you upgraded was for prettier games and smoother play, not a number at the end of a benchmark?

Anyway, personally I like the unigine benches for their aesthetics and music. Not a fan of 3d mark as they are a little intrusive.

Plus if you use the 3Dmark ones you have to pay to get the versions that would use settings you are likely to use while gaming. Benching at 1200xXXX is not really useful for me anyway.

I'm just curious as to what the benchmark increase would be :(

I'm going to be in work tomorrow when it arrives, I work in an IT workshop so I can just play about with my PC but can't sit there playing games :p Hence wanting to benchmark to test its spirits.
