Yes, the Busa is just fast in a straight line, the ZX-10 will really be far better in the bends, wont be far off busa speeds if you get a new ish one

The ZX12R is a far better bike than the Busa is now, with the derestriction the ZX12R will give a speedo reading of 220mph anyway, where you would use it i have no idea but its there, also where the Busa can be a bit heavy in the corners (although it doesnt stop people thrashing them round the track) the ZX12R is also a little bit nippier.

The ZX10R is an altogether different beast, in fact i know a couple of people that have gotten rid of GSXR1000K5's recently for 10's (both do 54 seconds on the Brands Indy, which is more than respectable) and the pair of them found the GSXR to be stupidly quick but to easy to ride fast "tamely" and the buss they got from the Ninja was far better, i am not sure i would totally agree 100% with that but both these guys have had and got rid of R1's when they were the craze and are adamanant that its the craziest bike of the bunch at the moment (neither liked the new 06 model).

RSV Factory, scary big twin, doesnt rate in horsepower but scary in torque :D

If i wanted a bike that could be ridden hard on the road and taken on the track to embarass others then it would be a GSXR750K4/K5 (lots of people have now realised that one of them with a Power Commander and a TRE fitted are more than a match for the 1000 anywhere you dont need to go any faster than an indicated 170 ;) ).

just my tuppence, probably fourpence after that lot :D

Personnally i want a 916 SPS but thats just me :D

Any of the current supersport thousands would be better than the Busa. The Busa is very very fast in a straight line, but a supersport would be more fun.

Thats my opinion anyway, having rode exactly none of those. But, iirc, the busa isn't classed as a proper supersport?

Agree with L Plate on the big bike, GSXR750 with a full Yoshimura system and a power commander. Should be more than enough to keep up with the big bikes through the twisty bits.

DTR125X for the small bike, nice supermotard looks and you dont have to ride round on knobblies.

Used to have GSXR600's which are track focused. Now have a Busa and on the road its just as good a bike through the corners (well to me) with loads of extra balls for the straights. No substitute for CC's really to give a nice amount of torque. I like the fact I don't have to dance all over the gear lever now to make progress, but then that suits my style of riding.

Agreed all the 1000 sports bike will out handle the Busa and ZX12r but highly unlikely on the road unless you ride like a complete nutter. If however you plan on doing track days then go for one of the litre sports bikes.

Would say the Busa is a little slow turning in but I fitted new suspension linkages to raise the rear and that's sorted that out :D After a few mods it now weighs no more than a Ducati 916 and with a bit of countersteering can still be thrown around (though still not as easy as the modern litre bikes)

All depends what is wanted from the bike as to what you buy.

CBR125s are a sheep in wolfs clothing. Only sports rep 125s I would bother with are the Honda NSR and Aprilia RS.

Coincidentaly I'm getting one or the other for use in the summer hopefully :)

Depends what you're after though. I wouldn't fancy the maintenance required for an RS.

I'm an Aprilia fanboi.

Go the big V-Twin route.......you simply wont regret it.

Look at the kit you get on an RSV-R or Factory......Ohlins, Brembo etc.

Value for money is incredible.

And take it from me, a well riden Mille, even a 2000 model like my own one, can leave the latest Jap tackle in your dust quite easily.

I was fed a diet of large capacity inline 4 cyl bikes for years, until I tried the RSV.

I haven't looked back since and my next bike will most probably be another Mille. :)
