OP, it's a low pressure switch. Usually used to stop the boiler firing when the system pressure drops below 0.5bar. Also works like a pump proving switch on some boilers IIRC.
If you tell me what boiler it is I can get you a part number, though it's pretty common among various models/manufacturers.
Yeah from the diagram on the back of the pcb cover it is called the pressure switch.
It's a vokera mynute 20e. If I get the part number I can source the part and get my uncle to fit it. He works for british gas but appears he doesn't like to help family too often. I doubt it is this that is making it blow fuses though if it is just a switch.
