Hi all,

After sorting out some old bits and bobs i've managed to put together 3 PC's ranging from 2.8ghz Pentium's to a 3ghz Athlon. They all work fine have 512mb RAM around 100gigs of storage per PC. I know I won't get any decent money selling them but am looking for another use....

I'm just looking for some sort of project really as I have a bit of spare time tomorrow. How could I put them to good use?

Thanks

Practice setting up an Active Directory Domain, along with a mail server, DNS, DHCP, and anything else you care to tinkle with.

server is a useless idea as it will hog his bandwidth, i assume they are on the same tube as you main pc! Try to see the best overclock you can get on it,, then fold for cancer :)

Install Ubuntu or Debian or an OS each, and have a play around with that.

Yeah, charity is perhaps the best one so far, ask around some may be very happy to be given a computer or 2

donating any electrical equipment to anyone is dodgy of the proper sort.

If its faulty, even years down the line and does damage, you can be liable for it

send them to me i am in charge of education at an independent charity education centre in dorset and i am looking for computers to use with school children and electronic microscopes. well its an option.;)

I used mine too learn active directory and other domain controller functions. Good practise. Could use one as a central file server with automatic backup and other fun functions.
