what can i do? ?

Hi guys,

Kinda stranded here. Going through renting a flat and I was told its ready Friday and I arranged to get keys at 3. I've vacated my current property and just loaded a van I've got for today. Just got a phone call from the agent saying the landlord had an issue with the water and for legal reasons can't get it signed off, meaning I can't get the keys.

What can I do?

Get the landlord to sort out and pay for alternative accomadation until matters are resolved. I assume you have a written contract in place to rent the property

Did you sign a contract with the agent/landlord? if so what does it say about this kind of situation?
Either way better go to a CAB office and see what advice you can get.

My worst nightmare, I always left a week's overlap between renting place though I appreciate that doesn't help you now

I'd beg either your old landlord or your new landlord to let you stay somewhere. Might be worth contacting these guys: http://england.shelter.org.uk/get_advice

As it stands so far..

I went to the head of business and managed to get keys today to put my stuff in and landlord putting me up in a hotel.
