If I uninstall Microsoft Office Home and Student 60 Day Trial and Works, I can still use Microsoft Office 2007 though yeah?

Adobe Reader 8.1.2

This needs updating.

Microsoft Office Home and Student 60 Day Trial
Microsoft Office PowerPoint Viewer 2007
Microsoft Works

If you have Office Enterprise then you don't need these.

ATI Catalyst Install Manager
Catalyst Control Center - Branding
NVIDIA Drivers

Ati and nVidia? Unless I'm missing something.

I'm sure you could whittle it down further and I would replace AVG with MSE, but I'm not entirely sure these are the cause of your slowness.

um well openoffice is the freeware equilivent and is fully compatible with 2007 but if you remove the trial you wont be able to use Microsoft Office 2007 without buying it :)

EDIT: with Office Enterprise you should be fine

I'd be more concerned about what's running when Windows starts, as opposed to what you have installed.

An installed application, that never runs, is not going to make your machine slow.

Have a read about "msconfig" - http://netsquirrel.com/msconfig/index.html

They could be nvidia chipset drivers?

And you do have a lot of rubbish there. I'd personally start afresh, but otherwise try getting rid off the HP software and DivX (replace with VLC), they'll likely have processes running in the background. Otherwise check your processes tab in task manager and have a look...

This. Uninstalling programs won't magically make your system faster, unless you happen to uninstall whatever drivers/programs are starting up on boot/login - these are the ones slowing it down the most. msconfig is a very good place to begin; you can basically stop everything except the basic Windows services from running on startup - nothing else is necessary.

And as long as you've got Windows firewall running and you keep your OS updated via Windows Update, why not uninstall AVG? Anti-virus programs are in the top 10 list of "things that slow your PC down", even the good ones.

AVG doesn't have the best reputation at the moment as far as free AV clients go. Personally I think Avast is a bit faster.

Also, if you're feeling adventurous then a reset/recreation of your windows profile can sometimes do wonders.

Following on from Burnsy's analysis:

Compatibility Pack for the 2007 Office System - this is for Office 2003 to read/write Office 2007 files. You don't need it if you have 2007 already/
LightScribe System Software - Are you ever going to draw pictures on the data side of your CDs or DVDs? Because that is what Lightscribe does.

:o:o

I'd use lightscribe, but I doubt many people do :)

Start afresh? There's not that much crap there at all.

But he's got a lot of things with potential background processes. For example:

Adobe Reader
AVG
Catalyst Control Center
??? CrossLoop 2.51
CyberLink/Power2Go
DivX Player
??? DVD Flick
Enhanced Multimedia Keyboard Solution
HP Customer Experience Enhancements
HP Easy Setup - Frontend
HP Total Care Advisor
HP Update
Java 6 Update 15
??? LablePrint

Personally it'd be enough for me to want to format. Especially with the HP software.

And by uninstalling it you get rid of those processes. It might require a bit of a registry cleanup, but nothing more than that.

I notice several people suggesting to get rid of the HP software.

Quick question how do you scan without HP software?

I bought an HQ all-in-one copier, scanner printer the printer works great without HP software but how do you get the scanner to work?

Does it have the driver installed properly?
