My car seats are stinking! My 3 year old always steps on them with dirty shoes etc. So, i want to give them a damn good clean and then by car seat covers.

They are fabric covered seats. Not got a clue what to use. Anyone? Thanks

If they are heavily encrusted then nothing less than a vax or similar will do.
Autoglym do a good upholstery foam, but if they are that bad i would start with a good vaxing.

I think you may be pishing in the wind, but this based on your description of muddy feet. Give it a try. If I am cleaning upholstery though without a true 'wet' clean, I go with Autoglym Interior Foam.

Had the same when I bought my corsa, in the end we got a proper wet vac on the seats. Although it took days to do they were beautifully clean afterwards.

We did have good results with the Auto-glym interior shampoo on the headlining though.

With cleaning products you'll just push the dirt around. You need to wet vac the upholstery IMO.

This

get a proper upholster / carpet cleaner with an attachment. Obviously will need a warm day when you can leave the doors open for the seats to dry.

shaving foam ? lol not heard that one before. Any all purpose cleaner should do the job.

Particular favourite on Detailingworld is Daisy APC from tesco as its nice and cheap and does a decent job.

When I use to valet for honda we used to use autosmart Biobrisk on fabrics and carpets, works wonders using enzymes to break down dirt and leave a nice neutral smell.

i have used autoglym interior shampoo before.

apply to the dirty area, scrub it in, then after how ever long you hoover it out.

seems to have worked for me :)
