What can I use to clean my monitor?

I use water on a sponge, squeezed so there only minimal water left, but the water is as hot as I can hold so it evaporates instantly.

According to the manual that came with mine its soapy water. I'm a bit surprised myself but there you go. So long as its not actually y'know, dripping everywhere I guess its ok. I'd be wary of solvents myself pure water at least is chemically inactive.

i use a damp dishcloth and then wipe dry with a tea towel on my 40" 4k monitor, does the job, i also did this with my 30" dell for over 7 years with no problems, just make sure the cloth isn't dripping and you'll be ok, i do the same with my tv, no problems.

Cloth is just a tool for rubbing, but it does NOT mean it will clean the surface. For cleaning is some kind of liquid, for example "Screen and keyboard cleaner" in spray. So use both: spray the liquid off the monitor and rub it with microfibre, or sunbeam cloth. I use second (dry) cloth for "rubbing to dryness" @ the end as first one after cleaning few items is not always dry.

Have used Specsaver lens cleaning fluid and a cotton handkerchief (clean!!) / micro fibre cloth for years without issue

you just have to watch where it dribbles

Some stuff called Dr Magic the mrs picked up from Poundland. Comes in a 200ml bottle with a micro fibre cloth.

Good stuff, no streaks or anything and it's only a quid

The most effective and cheapest solution if the screen is quite bad is to take a very slightly damp piece of kitchen roll with the tiniest dab of washing up liquid on it, wipe the screen with that, then use a dry piece of kitchen roll and dry the screen.

Washing up liquid has not affected any screen coatings I've ever tried and it will lift any oily finger marks off very effectively..

I personally use that if the screen is really dirty, then any old regular lens/glasses cleaning stuff for just cleaning light stuff off..

I use the stuff you get from Specsavers for cleaning glasses. I think it's £3 for the large 240ml bottle. It's solvent free.

Not advisable at that concentration it can remove the protective coating on the LCD.

I recommend using this product, leaves no streaks whatsoever.
