What car did you learn in?

Just interested in what car you learnt to drive in, whether you only passed last week of many decades ago!!!

I have my test next tuesday and been learning in a BMW 116i - although my instructor is planning on getting a 2.0 diesel Mini Cooper for lesson soon - which sounds crazy!!!

Diesel 306.

Nearly all our local instructors drove them at the tme.

What's crazy about it?

I learnt in a Ford Ka, it was a ghastly thing, but hey it did the trick and I passed first time with 2 minors after 12 lessons.

it does something crazy like 88 mpg extra urban and 60 mpg average and if your giving lessons all day long the mileage must also be crazy

I learned in 1992 in a 1979 VW Polo. It had a full 895cc powering it.

1.6/1.8 focus (theAA one), was a diesel so really good for the manouvers!

my instructor had a Mini One, a Mini One D and a Clio DCi all in 6 months.

A 1987 Skoda Rapide, an exceptionally nasty car. Used to take the skin off my knuckles when I opened the window due to a poorly placed and made door pocket. Passed my test in 1988 and got a Datsun 120y, loved it. Then got an Escort mk3 which rusted away to nothing.

A 12 year old 1.1 Ford Fiesta which had had multiple crashes (due to previous owners) and a REALLY dodgy engine and battery (if you stalled it would completely break at least 1 engine component) but luckily I never did stall much in that car. It's weird because I've stalled so much more in my new Golf.
