I did a few lessons and took my test with an instructor who had a Nova. Oh the shame

I learnt to drive in a few different cars though, I have happy memories of a mini, a Metro Turbo and an aged Fiat 128.

Sounds like my instructor, although he had a 106diesel...the phase 1 5 door version...don't know or care about the engine size, it wasn't good I know that.

Did a few lessons in a Hyundai Accent (not even close to the worst car I've ever driven, worryingly!) and one lesson in a Nissan Almera (much, much closer to being the worst car I've ever driven....beaten soundly by the CityRover though). Could have been worse of course - my sister learnt to drive in....*shudder*....a Rover 25....

Did most of my learning in our '86 Nissan Bluebird (LX no less ), which is still going strong, but had a few lessons in a Toyota Corolla 1.4 converted to LPG as well. My bike training was done on a Honda CG125 and a Kawasaki ER-5.

although my instructor is planning on getting a 2.0 diesel Mini Cooper for lesson soon - which sounds crazy!!!

Because there is no such thing.. theres the choice of a 1.4 Petrol, 1.6 Petrol and Diesel.

But I learned in a 55 Clio and a Focus Diesel.
