A mate is asking at work about a new car, but I'm struggling to suggest something he wants, help me out?

Criteria:
Less than 5yrs old
£13k-£14k (or less)
3 litre or less (Turbo's allowed)
Softtop or DropTop
Quick!
2 seats (poss 4)
Think thats the criteria for now

Whats ya suggestions?

I'm thinking Elise/VX220/Z3/S2000/etc, anything special or out of the box he should look at?

Only weekend for girls. ;) :p

When you old and grey like me you like the comfort of seats that are more than paper thin, carpets on the floor and enough space to put a suitcase when you take a "sort" away for a weekend!

I have carpets in mine and I find that a soft bag will fit in the boot with all the clothes we need when I take a "sort" away for a weekend ;)

Seriously though I've used my Elise as a daily driver for the last 2 years/25000 miles and for me it's always been fine. I find the seats in my exceedingly comfortable and can quite happily drive for a 300 miles, fill up with petrol and start again.

S2000 for that money. Don't think you'll find much better for £14k(ish).

If you don't need any of the associated comfort, then an Elise defo.

Went out in an Elise before I bought my Z4 and I just couldn't live with it day to day, too noisey, small, bumpy etc.

Now if I was 21 instead of 36 I would have probably gone for the Elise ;)

Oh if only you knew how wrong you are...

Performance wise it's pretty good, I was talking more about the styling (really don't like the interior), it's not really a what I would class as a two seater sports car (even though it has good performance and has two seats!)
