what card should i go for?

i think i may try to adjust the cooler to save a bit. after reading some more reviews on the 290 the step up is enough to warrant me to crave a 290 card.

i already have the cpu and motherboard so no going back there. just need a black air cooler to fit in with my theme.

Well, the h100i comes with thermal past, so there's £9 saved. You're welcome ;)

See what comes on This Week Only later today.

EDIT: The Antec Kuhler 1220 would save you £20 on the cooler, without you having to buy a great big ugly air cooler to ruin that beautiful spec you've put together.

Most CPU coolers come with thermal paste, if you want to save money you could get a Thermalright 140 for £35 or a better thermalright for £55

Also get a WD blue, the greens are slow and the blacks are loud.

Problem with water coolers is that they are actually the same / worse performance / noise compared a good air cooler and also twice the price, if you do not have a window in the case I do not see a problem, but it is not my PC so do what you want!

First: his case does have a window.

Second: 240/280mm watercoolers like the h100i and h1220 give better performance than big air coolers: http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/cooling/2013/03/18/antec-k-hler-h2o-1220-review/2

they dont have a 2tb wd blue only green red and black which all bump the price up.

ill consider the antec cooler instead. as you say another 20 quid towards the card.

i will be playing at 1080p and 1920x 1080 if possible,

If you're happy with 1080p then worth considering the 280X and GTX770.

But if you really want to spend upto £350 then the r9 290 is the best hands down. The GTX 780 needs to come down in price ;)

Well ok if want water cooling no prob, but if want to save money then you can get the same performance vs noise of the h100i etc. for about 50% of the price with an air cooler.

Water cooling same temps + noise = £100, Air cooling same temps + noise = £50... You pays the money you makes the choice, just putting it out there as I am a helpful kind of a guy.
