Looking to replace my Nvidia 280GTX,i'm not bothered if it's ATI or Nvidia.

I'm using an EVGA Classified 760 motherboard with an i7 running at 4Ghz.

Gaming at 1920 x 1200.

Would prefer a single card or maybe dual cards if the price is right.

Thanks in advance.

Whats your budget....
From the lower end, a 5850>5870>480GTX :)

To be honest upto £500 and the other problem is i need the card for friday as my mate has bought my 280.

My other problem is that EVGA only supply Nvidia bridges,to get 16x on each card i need to use slots 1 & 3 which requires a 10cm crossfire bridge but i can't find one anywhere.

Would a 5870 be much of an upgrade over a 280GTX?
Yes, it would be reasonably faster than a GTX280. However you have to also bare in mind that some games in dx11 mode the frame rate will dive, or don't be so surprise that 5870 may not be much faster than GTX280 when running in dx11 mode with the 5870 instead of dx10 mode with the GTX280.

Yse a 5870 would be a good upgrade, you get DX11 and from average to massive performance increase game depending. Still I would go down a single 5850 and overclock it root.

5970 would be a massive boost but at a cost, 2x5850's would be the better buy and a bridge is not necessary to get xfire working, I'm not sure if there is much of a performance drop not using a bridge.
