What card to go for from a gtx280?

Im running 1680x1050 22inch monitor atm possibly buying a 27inch 1920x1200 in the near future wondering what card you would recommend, mainly playing black ops and bad company 2 atm.
I have been considering a 580 but their big money atm and i reckon i can get a 27inch monitor and card for the 500 quid

You could pickup a HD6950 and Iiyama ProLite 27" (1920*1080) for around £500.

HD6950 will offer a nice improvement over a GTX280, you can flash it to a HD6970 as well.

GTX570 is good too, but cost you little more.

My stock 6950 runs everything with all the frills at 1900x1200- you might want to consider whether you need the 570- shader unlocked and set to catalyst maxes you are basically looking at more than enough power.

The prolite e2607 ws is also very nice and does full 1920x1200, its 26 inch but this is most certainly big enough.
