hi guys
could you tell me what graphics card is better
Geforce 7300GT 512MB AGP or
ATI Radeon X1650 512MB AGP??
please help they are both the same price and im sure that eather one will be better than my radion 9500 128mb.

According to this weeks Micro Mart mag the Ati is a decent card , easily beating the 7300gs and Toms Hardware shows it beating the GT.
Never used either so cannot comment with personal experience but the reviews certainly appear to favour the ATI card.

I am currently using a X1650pro 256MB and its very good for that price point. I would say its about on par with a X800XT, I have had both and they get very similar results in 3D Mark 05.

Gaming wise its fine for the source games and a little older titles. In HL2 I have run it a 1360x768 all on high with 2xaa and 2xaf. Newer games obviously struggle, but in my opinion I would definitely say it was better than a 7300GT especially if you get the DDR3 version of the X1650pro, the default clocks on mine are 600/1400.

How much exactly are you spending on these out of date cards? These are very old gen. Maybe someone could find you a bargain on a newer one ?

well in the end i bought the 7300gt cost me £59.99 bit expensive i know but it works a lot better than my last one.

ok guys had a few problems last few day with graphics cards.
so the 7300 gt was faulty so took that back
and went and bought the x1650 but it crashed my system every time i tryed to run any program even explorer so took it back and got money back
,could any one recomend a good agp card that is around the £60 mark?

i take it you done aproper install for the x1650 ? removing all nvidia drivers and then installing new ones for *** ati . also whats the rest of yoru system and what power supply you have ?

yes i did remove all the graphics drivers before installing the new card.
the man in the shop said that my mobo just didnt like it.
specs as follows:-
amd athlon 64 3700 san diego core @2.2 ghz
1.5 gig of samsung ddr400
msi k8t neo2 v2
ati 9500 128mb
seagate 160 gb hdd
400 watt psu

thats under 60 hopefully your psu would be ok for it.
