I currently have the Akasa Eclipse and really want a new case the eclipse has been good to me over the years but am bored of it now and i think its is crap for cooling as my case temps are allways to high.

And i wont get the level 10 as much as i love it i cant part with that much for a case lol

So what can you suggest cus i really cant decide

Not really botherd about budget to much and as for looks i like simple looking cases but im not really botherd about looks care more about cooling as best as i can with out it being to noisy as my pc is never switched of and its in my room so i have to sleep with it on

What about size?
Enough space for comfortable working with all and any graphics cards?
How much HDDs and 5.25" devices?
(probably the more the better so that won't run out of space and need again to buy case)

Yea im not to fussed on size as long as i can fit a few HDD and a rather large graphics card then all is good but im also starting to think about full water cooling so that might need to be taken into consideration

Lian Li PC A71FB
lovely looking case, nice and big to accomodate full WC which your last 2 choices wouldnt be able to, but also decent air cooling, which the Corsair doesnt have (unless youre going straight to WC?)

The three you mentioned are all great cases, can't really go wrong with those, just pick the one you like most. Personally I'd go for the Fortress as I like the design and think it'd be the easiest to work with for a number of reasons, but the other two are just as good really.

Been considering the LIAN LI PC A71FB as well as a possible replacement for my akasa eclipse, looks great though id prefer a black interior, not a major point, when you consider how good the build quality is, im still pretty keen on it. I had looked at the corsair 800d with an option to later go watercooled but its apparently not that great for air cooling, with the pc a71fb id be able to continue with good air cooling for the meantime and still have the water option available. Plus the lian li is signifigantly lower in price than the 800d.

Yeah thats basically exact same thought I had with it, currently running an antec1200 (replaced fans with S12s) and wanted something nicer, quieter with good AC for current build but giving me the option to WC next build, dont really wanna buy blocks now if I end up having to replace them in a year, I reckon next full build Im gonna move over to WC. And yeah Id of preferred black internals but seeing as how its not a windowed case it doesnt matter. Mine arrived today but is to big to fit under desk atm, I move ot new flat next week with bigger desk so will move system over then. When I do upgrade next year I'll add absorption matting to, to reduce sound, but dont wanna insulate the panels heat wise whilst on air

Glad you mentioned about the height of the case mate, had a quick measurement of my desk, 70cm high so i should have no issues with it fitting below it, however the front end would protrude a wee bit further than my eclipse.

Personally I'd go for the Fortress as I like the design
FT01 is mid tower to start and wouldn't be much any upgrade from Eclipse. FT02 again wouldn't really offer any water cooling option:
Adding radiator to those bottom fans (only place for sensible sized rad) eats fatally into space available for long graphics cards.

Too bad makers can't make anykind standards for fitting of cooling component and stay on that.
Well, at least we can take comfort in that there are standards for cases, motherboards and PSUs although some brands try to break that compatibility every once in a while.

Low desk, Lian Lis aren't overly high... Chieftec maxi towers are still ~10cm/4" higher. (good for streching those old PATA flat cables)

The fortress is also a nice case for a midi, however if you intend to use a lot of hard drives this can limit the size of graphics card used, to fit some of the longer cards a section of the hdd mounting bays have to be removed, the eclipse as old as it is, still comfortably accomodates any card on the market without having to remove the drive bays.

The problem ive got with my eclipse is that it just allways seems to be warm i think the air flow is awfull thats the main reason i want a new case oh yea and the fact that my eclipse is very old, it has had some beatings over the years from modding and me loosing my temper when somthing crashes lol

i just need to decide if im def going to watercool it :/
