What changes have you noticed after giving up smoking

1. Slightly more stamina, specifically lungs don't seem to "burn" as much after a run/game of footie.

2. Living room doesn't smell stinky after a night

3. Hair/clothes don't stink

4. Bit more cash around, although cigs were/are cheap out here.

Been vaping for a year now, started on 18mg, been on 11mg for about 3 months, not rushing at all.

Basically nothing for me, maybe I was able to go up hills at a better pace?

But to be honest even 12 months after giving up I craved it hard, even with the ecig, I now smoke 2 rollys a day, one after work when I get in and one after dinner. If I didn't have any golden virginia I wouldn't bother, don't like any other tobacco.

I am a social outcast at work, everyone smokes, they go off for their little fag breakd and I'm let with the ringing phone and a wave of people asking me things.

But

I don't smell
Food tastes nice
Tea continues to taste horrid
I have around an extra £40 a month
I can breathe

First thing I noticed was I started sleeping a lot better.
Second thing I noticed, I can now run more than four meters without falling to pieces.
I no longer have ash all over my keyboard, which is nice.
I seem to have a lot more disposable income, which is useful for necessities such as beer.

The whole food/taste thing I haven't noticed, which is weird as I'm quite a foodie.

I'd definitely recommend going cold turkey, it's easier than you think if you actually want to quit.

I have titties
I'm still skint
People now smell awful

When my dad died I went to 40-60 fags a day... 2 months later I woke up one morning and decided to stop smoking and never touched one since.

I smoked from 12 years old  to 21.

People say I am the worse ex smoking anti-smoker ever

You can smell things.

You don't smell.

Ability to run without completely breaking down and dying, gradually builds.

What do I do with all this spare money?

I've smoked for around 20 years and have never had the will power to quit. I've tried everything from patches to hypnosis and nothing has helped.

So I decided to substitute smoking with vaping and have found it spectacularly easy. I'm not quite a month in yet but have had no desire for a real fag at all.

As well as the positives mentioned above like more energy, more money, and an increasing sense of taste, there is one major drawback for me - all of the smokers around me stink to high heaven! It disgusts me to think I used to smell like that and it's really off putting. I try and avoid certain people because of it now.

As others have said, SMELL. Not only the sense of it returning, but realising just how utterly awful the stench of stale cigarette smoke is, and just how much it clings to everything. I'm glad my house no longer stinks of it (now it just smells of dog :D).

Not waking up in the morning and immediately coughing, then spending the rest of the day coughing, is also a plus. Also able to exercise much more before getting out of breath.

Interestingly, people say your sense of taste also returns... but I found that after a few months of not smoking, I developed a serious craving for salt, which is still with me three years later. I plaster nearly every main meal with it nowadays.
