Is it possible to get a reliable, cheap modular power supply of only 350 watts?

I see all the ones on here but they are generally about £40 - £50. I was hoping there might be something a bit lower than that:)

I realise that cheap & reliable PSU don't usually go hand in hand but i thought i'd ask anyhow:)

Hmm is that modular though?

I am looking for a fairly low power one for a budget HTPC i have in mind. I want to be able to configure the cables nicely within the box hence wanting a modular one.

you may be pushing it looking for a cheap, reliable, modular psu for under £40, from the looks of things the antec basiq as said above is the way to go

No its not really expensive but i am trying to do this on a shoe string budget!

Just picking peoples minds to see if they knew of anything out there less expensive.

I am fully aware of the problems asociated with "cheap" PSU's. I have a corsair HX520 in my main rig for this very reason.

I was enquiring to find if there were any cheaper alternatives to the ones on this site with about 350w output from a reputable company. From the answers here it looks like the answer is no. Like i said i will keep an eye on the members market for something:)

Low power cheap PSUs just aren't made modular - that feature tends to be reserved for higher end models. Perhaps you might be able to find an old modular PSU on a well known auction site from days gone by when 400 odd Watts was high end?

Edit: No - looks like i was wrong! A quick search on a well known auction site shows you can get a 750W chinese tat super-lucky-wish-brand modular PSU for £40 delivered. If you don't like your other components. Oh wait - you want one for even less than that! I think you're dreaming:p. I think you'd be best off with the OCUK modular for £46 (if it ever comes back into stock) or the OCZ suggested above. Or abandon the idea of your HTPC cables being all neat and tidy while nobody is looking at them :p

Hehe, my spare psu is a Hiper Type R 480w which i purchased before the problems became widely known.

Although it served me well for over 3 years in my old rig i would be reluctant to put it into a HTPC. The fact it isn't modular doesn't help either!
