I didn't think all i7's were going to 6 cores, Presumably they'll give the 4 core i5's hyperthreading if that is the case?

As far as I'm aware that's the plan, obviously Intel will confirm or chop and change their minds as per. HT i5's and 6 core i7's minimum are in the works I believe

AFAIK there won't be any cannonlake mainstream CPUs period. After Kabylake next up is Coffeelake which will also be on 14nm but bring 6 core chips, followed by a die shrink with Icelake.
