I have just tried to up my clock speed on my Q6600.

At stock it runs 42,42, 36,36

Pushed it up to 2.8ghz as a test and runs at 44,44,38,38

These are both set with stock volts, which is 1.26 i think

My question is tho, that when I check the properties, right click my computer.

It shows

Q6600 @ 2.4ghz
3.6ghz, 3.50gb of ram

Shouldnt that read 2.8 instead of 3.6?

I have checked bios and that says 2.8 (400x7)

Is there something wrong there?

No it should still read 2.40 in the my computer properties, as this is the cpu you have.

Open cpu-z and it will tell you 2.80ghz which is your speed

quite why you have 3.6 under it i dont know that part should be 2.8 unless you have made a typo in your post

No it is not a typo. I over clocked my last card to 3.2 and that showed up as 3.2

If i run sp2004 this shows up as 3.6 as well. But bios doesnt and neither does coretemp

Very strange.

Anything I could do to try and reset?

So your cpu ocd to 3.2 yea?

Oh i get it, it prob just the program not reading the multiplier right apparently according to my proepties section under computer im running near 4ghz lol actually 3.5ghz i just use a *8 multiplier and not the 9 and i think its assuming im using the 9

Oh that sounds right then. As the multiple of mine would be 3.6 if i was using 9. But I am using 7

Thanks
