I need to repair some cracks etc, so need this in a repair filler or as close as possible.

I assumed a sand colour last time but when I tried it, it was very white.

Did you know you can get powder to dye mortar? You need to experiment a lot, letting it fully dry between mixes, but you can usually get pretty close.

Plus the sand colour used in the mix makes a big difference.

As above. A local aggregate yard will usually use a local source for sand that the original mortar was probably mixed from, if the house has any age. New builds often get ready mixed shipped in so they have consistent looking brickwork.

Sand dictates the colour. Local builders usually know where to get different colours. Note that Blue Circle often gives a very dark colour that takes a long time to fade, so it could be years before you get a good match. But yes, that looks like blue circle cement with silver coloured sand.
