What colour(s) do you see?

Surely a fast moving image on a monitor is going to show different artefacts based on the screen technology and response times of the pixels?

Duel monitor setup, on one its green on the other its brown.

I dont think its your mind thats playing a trick just the limitations of the screen.

from center-out i can see red, yellow and green when its spinning one way, and green/yellow/red the other.

Just cranked up the RPM at home, and eventually saw some yellow in the middle and blue on the edges.

The colours were grouped in distinct bands of three lines spirally outwards.

As the radial speed of the lines closest to the centre is greater than the speed of those towards the outside, and I only started to see colours when I cranked the speed up - 400rpm for the yellows, 500rpm for the blues - I'm going to say that it is due to the variance of refresh rate of individual RGB pixels in monitors
