I remember going over my mates house when he had 512k NTL cable installed, and I was still on 56k
Dial up > Broadband.
The first time walking through parts of Warcraft, I was like "Woah I feel so lost" if that counts.
When I first played WoW I was amazed by the sheer size of it, all the mobs and NPCs. Now when I go on it just doesn't feel the same. Get that quest, kill them, hand it in. Get the next, kill the next, hand it in. If only I could forget

Lately it would have to be going from XP (32bit) to win7 (64bit).

Putting in a voodoo2 card and loading up Quake 2. It looked so much better
This and also a pair of RAID 0 SSDs. Also to a lesser extent moving to Windows from DOS no more batch files to load the token ring network drivers before starting a network game.

In 1997 I plugged a Diamond Stealth 3400 graphics card in to my rented Olivetti Pentium, which until then had sported 1mb of onboard GFX power and marveled at the magnificence. I was able to turn up the graphics detail in Grand Prix 2, and even displaying downloaded 'images' from the internet was so much faster.
Upgrading to broadband also baked my noodle.
