ello again ill be putting together my new build in the nex few days

im going from
754 slot athlon64 3000+
9800 pro

939 slot althon64 4000+
x1900xt

slightly worried about extra heat that may be generated, im not overclocking right now but intend to in the future this is my case

http://www.ultraproducts.com/product_details.php?cPath=13&pPath=348&productID=348

i currently have one fan front bottom pulling air in and one at the back pushing air out, is it worth me adding another fan on the side panel aprox where cpu fan is? should it suck air into the case or be pulling hot air out?

as you can prolly tell im new to this and you can judge by my previous spec that heat was never really an issue.

i havent got mad cash to spend on water cooling but could stretch to a few more fans if needed.

any help gratefully received :) cheers

As long as you get a decent heatsink such as a scythe ninja, tuniq tower or thermaltake ultra 120 that should give you plenty of room for overclocking. And while the extra side fan wouldn't harm, the cooling abilities of that case are somewhat limited.

Can i ask whats the logic behind getting the 939 4000+?

well it only cost me 15£ from a clanmate who had just upgraded so i thought it was a bargain tbh :)

so should the side panel fan pull air out then yeah?

Try the side panel fan both ways and see which is better. I expect it will be better blowing out.

Have you decided on a motherboard, graphics card etc?

ordered the Connect3D ATI Radeon X1900 XT 256MB GDDR3 , which arrived very promptly from ocuk, the mobo i chose was the ASrock 939dual-SATA2 (ULi M1695) as discussed here http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17457881&page=1&pp=30

which ive been waiting for almost 2 weeks to be deliverered from an ebay seller, i chose it for a few reasons mainly that is was reasonably priced and i had spent most of my cash on the new card, it was also reccommend by a friend who has been using one a few months.
from reviews the board seemed a reasonable overclocker, overclocking is somthing i have never ventured into which i will give a bash with this mobo so i decided to look at a board that many other people had used and hence would be able to help me with :) .

the only thing i can see being a problem is my cheap ram (corsair value select) so i may have to look at changing that in the future for somthing more suitable for the job.
another problem may be that my psu (ultra x connect 400w) for now i intend to use a separate psu to run the rest of the pc with the xconnect running just the graphics card
as discussed here http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17641561

that board you orderd will be sufficient to hit 300htt. but i suspect your chip will max out before the board does. how much did you get the board for ? since you can get its successor the dual-vsta for around 40 quid inc vat and delivery brand new
