Hi there. Sorry for being ignorant but a friend has a 8700GTS on his laptop. I have searched on the net for it and all i got was some vague information and from what i understood is that the card is a 8800GT core. Might be mistaken. Anyone care to shed some light here.

do you mean the 8700mGT? i looked on the nvidia website, the 8700gts was the old name for the desktop only 8800gt. The 8700M is the mid-high end card for laptops i believe it is a very heavily overclocked version of the 8600m, running at 625MHz instead of 475MHz core, and 1400MHz memory instead of 1200MHz. The shader clock is also 300MHz faster on the 8700m. EDIT:Beat me to it :D
