hello

some advice needed.

I recently bought a G3258 and ive overclocked it to 4.3ghz
Asus Z97 pro gamer mobo
8Gb RAM

Ive paired this lot with a 650w PSU and an old HIS 6950 2GB gfx card.

I'm just wondering what would be best upgrading, I mainly play Battlefield 3. but i feel like it stutters every now and then. On mostly medium.
I know the 6950 is the recommended amd card when bf3 came out, i think.

so was wondering what CPU to upgrade to if the cards ok for BF3 at the mo.

Im not overly fussed about overclocking to be honest.

Budget wise the minimum amount as possible to be able to play it smoothly

Ive also been thinking of maybe giving Battlefield 4 another bash in the future but its not a must.

That's one power hungry card, I'd be looking at a GTX 970 assuming you have a quality PSU. Next step would be CPU.

Was even thinking about selling the G3258 and the Z97 board and using the funds towards an older z77 and 2600k . Its technically a downgrade but at least the 2600k would run most of the latest games more stable, even without an overclock.

hopefully the money id get from the board and g3258 would cover most of the cost of the 2600k etc?
I know its not the latest of tech but i'm not really fussed

That would save me from paying out 190 quid for a 4690k that could go towards a new gfx card.

or is above a daft idea? lol

PSU is a good unit :)

You might as well keep the motherboard and look at a 4670k cpu.

or give us a budget we might be able to look at a lower cpu but higher performing than the G3258.
