My PC has been giving me lots of issues over the last few months, after running tests, replacing hardware, it looks like the RAM was the issue as I now have one stick of ram and the system is stable.

What DDR3 RAM should I get to replace the current sticks? it needs to compatible with my motherboard. 8GB +

Current setup

Memory: 2x 4GB corsair xms3 DDR3 RAM ( one stick which I believe is faulty)

Mobo: Asrock z77 Pro4 mobo

I really recommend Kingston ram. I've always used it and never had a problem. I am using Kingston HyperX Beast 16GB (2x8GB) 2400MHz which is at £110. But as above, motherboard info needed to be sure of compatibility.

My older PC is running 8GB (2x4GB) of Avexir Core series DDR3 1600 RAM without any issues. It's also using the dire Asrock Z77 Extreme4 board and I would assume memory compatibility will be similar to your board.

It also works fine with Kingston HyperX Fury DDR3 1866 RAM too (2x8GB).

Yeah I've recently got the HyperX Fury 1866Mhz 16GB and it's great for the price. Doesn't overclock amazingly but it doesn't make much difference anyway.

I don't bother overclocking RAM as I've never noticed any real improvement doing so. The HyperX Fury stuff is one of the very few kits I've used that runs at a command rate of 1T by default (changing it to 2T may help with oc'ing?). The only thing I had to change when installing the RAM was the voltage as it defaulted to 1.58V instead of 1.50V...I put that down to Asrock though as it did the same with both my Z77 Extreme4 & Z97 Extreme4 boards. All other timings were detected and setup automatically .
