B - Business Studies
C - English
C - English Lit
C - Electronics
C - R.E
D - German

7 A's and 2 B's here. Wouldn't say the results hav changed my life, but studying the subjects was definately worthwhile. Though my grades did get me back to do A Levels at the school which in turn got me into Uni to do my degree which in turn got me my job, so I guess the grades do have an effect on your life!

I have no idea, I can recall an AB in science? That's about it.

My CV doesn't even mention them, even for FE I only mention where / when I went and what I studied. I don't mention grades or anything.

It doesn't matter once you're on to the next level of education.

After practising my best "revise for one day before the exam - except for RS and other equally crap subjects" technique I managed the following:

A* in Maths (taken in the January)
A* in Physics
A* in Chemistry (still a mystery to me)
A in Biology
A in German
A in English Language
A in IT
B in English Literature (what a terrible subject :p)
B in DT: Resistant Materials
C in RS
C in Geography (missed a quarter of the exam out - in all the mocks we did, we only did three questions - one each from sections A, B and C. In the real exam we had to do two from section A).

As others have said, it's just a springboard to A-levels, then A-levels to Uni, then Uni to a decent job.

Am currently at the Uni stage after doing 4 A-Levels, and getting:
A in Mathematics
B in Computer Science
B in Physics
B in Economics

(I knew instinctively which subjects would be fun)...

For all its foibles, school is one of the best times of your life so savour it.

6 A-Level equivalents:

Maths: C
English: B
Afrikaans: B
Accountancy: C
Geography: A
Business Economics: A

3As, 5Bs and a C.

I failed my AS levels after a year, went and did a GNVQ, then went to a mediocre uni.

I don't think that it's really held me back that much. I just didn't try enough. My own fault.

Can't remember off hand but something like:

Drama: D
French: F
Maths: B (after retake)
Double Science: B B
English Language: B (or A, can't remember, but a retake at college)

Sucky results, but.. I still have a IT GNVQ Level 2, and a IT GNVQ Level 3 Merit, and I.T. Degree, and another half Degree that I never got round to finishing and STILL haven't claimed from the uni. lol. Always wanted to do a master's but can't afford it at present :-(

GCSE's don't make the person. Need to look at how they changed and what they achieved over time.

1 A, a load of B's and a few C's.

Hardly the best grades, but got me into A-levels so did the job.

Not a single job ever has asked me my GCSE results OR my A-levels.. they have only ever asked about my degree.

A few years after graduating no-one ever even asks me about my degree any more .. just my experience in my last role and what I can do. It's always the 'last step' of your life they are interested in. Before that, who cares?
