What difficulty settings do you play games on..

I usually play on the recommended setting, i have cranked a few games up to hard but after i have played through something once it is rare that i will play it again so don't usually go through again on a higher setting

Whatever is the default setting, unless its a game like GT5:P where the settings don't affect your opponents but affect how realistic the handling is, then i crank it up to max.

I normal play a game what ever the default setting is. If there's achievements that can be obtain by finishing a game on each difficulty then I'll give them all a try.

I usually play most games on normal, but if it's a game which I just want to get through to and don't have a lot of time then I play it on easy. Crysis was the last game I played on easy as I was limited for time.

used to be easy. because i almost broke my teeth biting the controller once playing it on normal. now i am more of an adult, i play on normal :p if i lose, i go chill out for a bit. lol.

easy here, i like to enjoy my games, not get frustrated and leave, everyones different, although saying that there has been a few exceptions such as COD, HALO. Rarely play games a 2nd time either

Im the same, i usually play easy for the same reasons. I think age has something to do with it as well, it my youth, i was brilliant at games, now im rubbish at anything not to do with sports, if i play normal or hard, i find it painful to play (depending on the game of course).

Normal. Although for NG2 I completed it on Acolyte so I would at least get through it once, but I am now going back through it on Warrior/Normal.

Normal for me too. I avoid Easy just in case they've crippled some aspects of the game to make it easier (not sure if this ever really happens, but I think I heard a rumour about that happening once, and it's stuck with me!). Might consider a harder mode if I'm playing through a second time, and there is some clear benefit to it, but I rarely replay games, and hard mode is often just less health rather than better AI or anything interesting like that.

any FPS are set to the hardest level.

Most sport games are set to hard, I very very rarely try any thing on easy.

Halo: hardest

Everything else: normal, easy usually cripples the experience immensely.

I hardly play single player and when I do I don't want to be pathetic and get annoyed at a computer game =/

I agree

If a games difficulty can be changed at any time, I will stick it on the hardest until a point becomes too annoying, then drop it down.

The majority of games I start on normal and finish, the perhaps replay through on hard.

If I find I'm doing to well I'll stop and restart the game and play through on a harder level.

Most sports games get put up to the hardest or second hardest levels though.

Guitar Hero has been Expert, I started GH on easy and got 2 tiers in before moving to normal, finished that, finished hard.

GHII came out and I started on Expert, same for GHIII

Rock Band I started Guitar on Hard, but am now play on Expert. Drums I'm working my way through on Hard... and I can't sing for **** :o
