What do Bundles come with?

Hi everyone,

I'm looking to update my computer (it's just a Q6600, barely capable of being overclocked, with 4GB of RAM) and I was looking at the Super Nova ROG Intel Core i7 3930K 3.20GHz @ 4.40GHz DDR3 Overclocked Bundle. I thought I'd go all out, lol. I'm really wanting a Hex Core, as I know I'd regret not getting one now over the next 3-5 years, and I can really see it benefiting the work I do (lots of image processing in Lightroom, encoding, rendering, etc., and I also like to game!). I know it's a bit overkill considering I don't need many of the features, but it would be nice to be future proofed in case I do decide to get several graphics cards.

I was just wondering though, what does actually come with the bundle? I assume you get all the boxes, manuals, cables, etc. that would come with the retail products? I did hear that that may not be the case with the CPU, though.

I don't want to find anything missing, especially with the motherboard. I also don't need the cooler, because I've already got a H70 (rev. 1, which will only fit luckily because the X79 Rampage IV Extreme has the switchable socket). Would it be a safer bet to buy the components individually and overclock it myself? I'd probably need to pick different RAM in that case (maybe a good thing?) as I can't see it on the site anyway. I was hoping not to have to overclock it myself, because frankly I can't be arsed, and I'd much prefer OcUK to have done it properly for me and guarantee it to be reliable.

Thanks very much!

Best to ask in Customer Service, just drop them a quick note.
Probably better off buying and building it yourself.

it comes with everything, and i mean everything, all boxes, manuals, leads and disks

i bought a overclocked bundle, best thing i 've done it a long time if you don't want the hassle of doing it your self, like above says, give them a email or ring and ask, they will help you with what ever you want, not too sure about changing the cooler but they will say if it will work with overclock etc, good luck.

not sure either about the warranty as mine came with 2 years for everything, then parts have what ever they have on site, so like ram etc, it's life etc

if cpu is retail it's 3 years, if oem then it's only 1 year, but that doesn't mater as whole kit gets 2 anyway :)

but they will tell you more.

cheaper to build yourself, but you may have more hair left in the long run if they do it for you, depends on how many times you have built and done OC b4 im guessing, i've built for 20 odd years, but never OC

Yep, everything you'd get if you bought seperately is included. You just need to install the cooler and chuck it in the case.

I just ordered this. I reckon I might notice the difference in speed.

Was going to buy the parts myself, but the difference was £10. For that they overclock it and warranty for 2 years.

And this week it's even cheaper, meaning I can't buy the parts cheaper than the bundle they offer, win-win :D

Thanks very much for the info! That's reassuring to know you get everything you would have if you got it all separately. I agree, it's a better deal getting it as a bundle.

I had forgot to ask about when the 14 Days Satisfaction Guarantee starts: at the time they ship it, or the time you order it? I assume the former, because the 5-7 working days build time would possibly eliminate more than half of the time yet get otherwise. I can contact support if no one knows ;)

I'm also looking for some advice on the bundle itself. Should I make a new thread specifically for that, as this one is more about the contents of bundles in general? Specifically, I want to make sure it's a good idea for my current case and cooling.

I just ordered this. I reckon I might notice the difference in speed.
That's a nice choice too! I think I was looking at that. It's probably a lot more sensible than the one I'm looking at, but I've saved more than enough and thought I may as well make it last! Again, though, I'd like some more advice so I may create another thread. I saw mention of a second version of the CPU (3930K) coming out which worries me about my timing.

Thanks again!

The X79 ROG setup is what I wanted, but the wife is already going to have a fit with the one I ordered (IF she ever finds out ). Besides, my CC already hates me.

I'm using this as a way to get into X79 for Ivy-E later, tho that might turn into never
