Am sat here looking at an unusable iphone at the moment, with itunes popping up telling me to either register or cancel the screen that is in front of me.

Do i just cancel it, then jailbreak + unlock it with ziphone so i can use it with my PAYG orange sim?

Thanks. :D

I was in the same position yesterday mate :)
I did...

-Plug into PC in recovery mode (I held the home button and plugged into dock and still kept hold until the phone showed the USB cable and iTunes logo)
-Ignore the activate screen that iTunes shows, I cancelled first time and it wouldn't let me do anything if I remember correctly
-I did restore, which downloaded software 1.1.4 and installed it, just to make sure the phone was running it
-Closed iTunes, open task manager and end process iTuneshelper.exe
-Ran ZiPhone, chose the option "Do it all"
-Left for 5mins or so, waited for confirmation from ZiPhone
-Unplugged from dock and installed my Orange sim card

The OCUK way recently seems to be:

1. Plug phone in
2. Put it in restore mode
3. Run unlocking tool
4. Update the firmware in iTunes
5. Swear
6. Repeat steps 1-3

:)

That's because you got steps 4 and 3 in the wrong order ;)

Oh, and click "restore" instead of update in iTunes.

I know that.. I didn't do it.. but it seems a few people have done it recently :)

We've had a few OMG IT'S BWOKEN! posts from people with failed ramdisk boots in ziphone too :)

There's too many iPhone threads tbh.

Someone should merge the "help" threads in to 1 single entity.

Damn slacking underboss *whistles* ;)

Maybe worth updating the FAQ thread with stuff like: What is bootneuter, do I need it? What is iLiberty+ etc..
